A full-length clone of the 1.9 kb plasmid, pUC18-MC, from maize kernels of a different inbred line, B79, was partially sequenced and compared to the sequence in [1]. A 812-bp fragment of the clone from B79 was identical to the corresponding sequence of the clone in [1] with the exception of three base pair changes (annotated as variations in FEATURES Table). A possible ribosome binding site, a 52-bp direct repeat, two regions of low G+C content, and three regions ressembling autonomously replicating sequences are indicated in Fig.2. A possible ORF is located from positions 782 to 1027.
